Mini Aussie Health Guarantee
Our mini aussie health guarantee is one of the strongest commitments we make to every family. We stand behind every puppy that leaves our home with clear, written coverage — not vague promises. This page explains exactly what is covered, what is not, and how the process works if a problem ever arises.
2-Year Congenital & Genetic Coverage Under Our Mini Aussie Health Guarantee
Your puppy is covered against life-threatening or severely debilitating congenital and genetic defects until 26 months of age under our mini aussie health guarantee.
Covered conditions include (but are not limited to):
- Severe hip dysplasia (OFA Fair or worse in both hips before 26 months)
- Elbow dysplasia (Grade 2 or higher)
- Hereditary cataracts (HC)
- Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA-PRCD)
- Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) when it significantly affects vision
- Degenerative myelopathy (DM) if it becomes symptomatic before 26 months
- Cardiac defects that require surgery or ongoing medication
- Any other genetic condition confirmed by a licensed veterinarian and DNA testing that seriously impacts quality of life
If a covered condition is diagnosed:
- Contact us right away and send the full veterinary records and test results.
- We review and verify the diagnosis (we cover the cost of additional testing if needed).
- You choose either a full refund of the original purchase price or a replacement puppy from the next available comparable litter (you only pay shipping if applicable).
The puppy stays with you. We never require you to return a family member in order to receive the benefit of the mini aussie health guarantee.
10-Day Viral & Infectious Disease Guarantee
Your puppy is also covered against contagious viral or infectious diseases for the first 10 full days after you take possession. This includes parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, severe kennel cough, and canine influenza.
If a covered illness is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian within those 10 days, we will either cover reasonable treatment costs up to the purchase price or replace the puppy at no charge.
72-Hour Initial Veterinary Exam
Please have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours (3 business days) of arrival. This short window protects both of us. If an issue is found that we were not aware of, we will cover treatment or take the puppy back with a full refund.
What Is Not Covered
- Minor or cosmetic issues (such as cryptorchidism after 8 months, small umbilical hernias, or minor bite irregularities that do not affect eating)
- Problems caused by injury, accident, poor nutrition, or lack of proper care
- Normal growth-related conditions
- Allergies or environmental sensitivities
- Complications from spay or neuter surgery (we recommend waiting until 12–18 months for better joint development)
Health Testing Behind Every Puppy
Every parent in our program completes:
- OFA or PennHIP evaluations for hips and elbows
- Annual CAER eye certification
- A full DNA panel that includes MDR1, PRA-PRCD, HC, CEA, DM, and other relevant conditions
We share these results openly with every family. You can also view more about our dogs on the Meet the Parents page.
Lifetime Take-Back Promise
This is one of the most important parts of our mini aussie health guarantee. If at any point in the dog’s life you can no longer keep him or her, we will take the dog back — no judgment, no fees, and no time limit. No puppy from our program needs to end up in a shelter or rescue without us first being given the chance to help.
Why We Offer This Level of Coverage
We raise a small number of puppies each year and live with the parent dogs ourselves. Because of that, we feel a real responsibility for every dog that leaves our home. The combination of thorough health testing, careful raising, and this written mini aussie health guarantee is how we stand behind our work.
If you ever have questions about the mini aussie health guarantee, the health testing, or anything related to your puppy’s well-being, just reach out. We answer messages seven days a week and are happy to walk you through any details.
